St. Viator’s College in Bourbonnais, Illinois

Even though St. Viator’s College in Bourbonnais, Illinois, is no longer in operation, the campus has a memento of Fulton Sheen’s student years there and his affection for the Viatorians. Near the entrance to the cemetery at Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and adjacent to the former St. Viator College campus, is a curious object – a sundial given by Fulton Sheen’s graduating class of 1917. Engraved on it are its class officers, including Fulton Sheen. (Photos credit the Viatorian Archives)
